Sad news today, as two more shops have closed in St. George’s. AS Cooper and the Crackerbox catered to tourists and with the lack of a comprehensive tourism strategy for the town, these shops have not found a viable economic niche. Debate continues to rage as to what to do next. What will come of the old town, as the tourist industry cannot seem to form a concensus on how to move forward with some pushing the hotel policy, while other push to have a comprehensive cruise ship strategy.

More news about widening Town Cut in St. George’s. Kenny Bascome claims this along with the building of the Park Hyatt and a new boutique hotel will bring new life to the East End. We will see. I just hope that we can complete some archaeological work before they throw these buildings up.
